Kozarev Confers with Greek Ambassador

Kozarev emphasised that relations between Serbia and Greece, which are founded on the deep and unbreakable historical, religious and cultural ties between the two peoples, are further reinforced by regular meetings between officials and intensive political dialogue, which serve as a driving force for the continued advancement of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The interlocutors discussed opportunities to further strengthen ties in various areas, with particular focus on the continued development of infrastructure projects, especially in the field of railway transport, as well as on intensifying cooperation in the energy sector.

Expressing gratitude for Greece’s consistent and principled position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called “Kosovo”, Kozarev conveyed Serbia’s position regarding the necessity of maintaining KFOR’s mandate unchanged in order to safeguard the position of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

Kozarev underlined that Serbia highly values Greece’s support for its European path and expressed the expectation that the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2027 would contribute to further accelerating the European integration of Serbia and the entire region, particularly given Greece’s membership in the “Friends of the Western Balkans” Group, which advocates a faster EU accession process for the region.
