Kosovo to Join U.S. Led Board of Peace
Posting on social media, Vjosa Osmani described the invitation as a “deep honor” and said she would represent Kosovo among the board’s inaugural members.
Highlighting the close relationship between Kosovo and Washington, Osmani affirmed the nation’s commitment to global security, stating that Kosovo stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the United States in pursuit of a safer world.
“True leadership does not only speak about peace, it makes it happen. This is exactly what President Trump has done with this historic initiative,” she added.
Osmani also noted the United States’ pivotal role in securing peace for Kosovo and reiterated that Pristina, a steadfast US ally, is prepared to actively support international peace efforts.
“History remembers those who take courageous steps to build peace, and we are ready to do so,” she said.
The White House is expected to release the official list of board members in the coming days. Invitations have recently been reported to several countries, including Türkiye, Argentina, Belarus, Canada, Australia, Egypt, Hungary, Pakistan, Jordan, Israel, India, and Russia.
The announcement follows last Friday’s White House declaration of the Board of Peace alongside the establishment of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza—one of four entities tasked with managing the enclave’s transitional phase.
The board’s formation coincides with the launch of phase two of a ceasefire agreement that halted Israel’s conflict in Gaza, which has left more than 71,000 dead and over 171,000 injured since October 2023.
This initiative is part of a 20-point plan proposed by Trump and approved by the UN Security Council last November.
